Information for Current Students and Alumni

Program Completion and Enrollment Status

The completion due date of all practicum hours and the major research project is 2 years from the last day of semester 4 for onsite program, and semester 5 for distance learning program. If students require extensions for the above due dates, they must communicate with the director to decide on an alternative workable due date.

If students do not maintain contact with the program and progress in practicum and/or major research project after coursework, and the two-year completion due date has passed from the last day of the final semester, the student will be recorded as inactive in the program. If at or after this time the student would like to continue practicum and/or major research project, they must pay a fee of $200 in order to reinstate their active student status in the program.

If the student does not maintain contact and progress in the program after 6 months from last contact, they will be recorded as inactive in the program.

Centering responsible and ethical student practice, it is important that students maintain continuous and current learning and practices in art therapy and psychotherapy throughout their training at TATI. As such, if the student has not maintained contact and progress in the program for 5 or more years altogether after the scheduled coursework completion date for their cohort, and they have not completed their coursework and/or practicum hours, reinstatement of active student status is not guaranteed. The former student may be asked to reapply to the program if they wish to pursue the graduate level diploma in art therapy at TATI.

Both the onsite and distance learning programs have a residency requirement. Students must reside in Canada while completing the coursework and practicum components of the program. TATI is unable to oversee and support international practicums outside of Canada. Students who relocate to a different country before completing their coursework and/or practicum hours may not be able to complete the program.
